So these people can't day-trade.Īnd maybe the gig economy isn't working out as well. And glad that, you know, the crypto market isn't that great. So that's been a breath of fresh air to see. And that's important because once you get completely staffed, and we're talking about line cooks and line level employees, now you can focus on not just filling the role, but actually getting the best people for the role and making sure that you're elevating those people. But in the last three months or so, we've finally gotten to a place where we are completely staffed. It's just because they've been incredibly challenged to get staff. It's not because the restaurants are poorly run. And I think for the last year and a half, most restaurants have been operating at probably 60/70% of where they're supposed to be, which is why maybe some people have had challenging services at some restaurants. So a lot of people left the urban markets because, I mean, you can't really afford to live here if you can't work here. And that really makes it challenging for people to have consistent work. So you yo-yo from being completely closed to only take-out, to 20%, to 50%, to closed again, to 20%, to 50%. But a pandemic just absolutely changes that. Post-recession, we just went straight through of constant growth. And from 2009 to 2019, we were just consistent, right? So the key to greatness for restaurants is consistency. What are you seeing at your locations?ĮUGENE REMM: What we're seeing is that we're fully staffed, and that's been the first time in about two years. We're slowly seeing jobs come back post-pandemic. I mean, the June jobs report came out this morning.
